Villa "Oro", Napoli - 1934-1937

where: Napoli, Via Orazio 27
collaboration: Bernard Rudofsky

Built on a tufa slope, on the bay of Posillipo, the villa spreads on three levels and has covered and uncovered spaces, open and closed to South. The small lot enhances the individual rooms, the entrance ramp opens towards via Caracciolo, Castel dell'Ovo, the Vesuvius, the Sorrentine Peninsula and Capri. The project, designed over a year in Procida with Bernard Rudofsky, creates pure geometrical shapes and a correct insertion in the landscape. The furniture and the great majolica floor, representing the Gulf of Naples, add extra quality to the project.
